Once upon a time, a woman who belongs to Tambali dynasty used to worship Ramalingeshwara Swamy
everyday on the hithe. As she was a pregnant at the time, she was unable to come to worship Swamy. So
she prayed to god in helplessness.
"O God! I cannot come to worship you climbing this hithe everyday" and with grief she was sobbering when
God appeared infront of her and said "If you are unable to come, I will". He tranformed into a chariot and
started to go along with her. After hearing some strange sounds, she turned back only to see Chariot wheels
broke and one of them has fallen into a lake nearby.
After Vasundhara, Tailappa Raju's daughter who belongs to Vaddemanu, the temple was built in 11th
Century in Pratapa Rudra's time who belongs to Kakatiya dynasty.
